Imagine a week spent soaking up the sun on the pristine beaches of Destin, Florida, while simultaneously sharpening your property management skills. That's exactly what attendees experienced at the 2024 NARPM Southern States Conference, hosted at the luxurious Hotel Effie.
As your humble Master of Ceremonies, I had the honor of guiding attendees through three days packed with insightful sessions, networking opportunities, and a whole lot of fun. From the moment we kicked off with a rousing rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, the energy was electric.
Day one was a whirlwind of industry insights and networking. We heard from NARPM's leadership, including CEO Gail Phillips and President Melissa Sharone. Government affairs experts Alex Vega-Zweydoff and Michael Hodges gave us the lowdown on rent control and interest rate issues affecting our industry. And let's not forget Phil Mazur's inspiring keynote on leadership and entrepreneurship. He had us all fired up to reach new heights in our businesses.
The breakout sessions were equally impressive. Todd Ortscheid helped us navigate the tech jungle, while Joe Pavone and Marco Montes discussed strategic financial management. Megan Brooks from Onsight Pros talked about the importance of preventative maintenance, and Ray Hespen dove deep into KPIs and maintenance workflows. And who could forget Monica Gilroy and Robert Lock's expert advice on post-move-out collections?
